Greetings students and families!

I’m Meagan, a teacher with Next Level Photo Education! I’m so glad you’re looking into ways to nurture your kiddo’s or your own creative spirit. I have a Master of Arts in Teaching from UNC Chapel Hill and studied Multimedia Art at UNC Asheville. I’m a certified K-12 Visual Art teacher in the state of North Carolina with five years of experience teaching Digital Photography classes in our public schools. I also have years of experience as a freelance photographer, as well as creative industry experience as a photographer and designer. My photographic work has been published in WNC Magazine and through Lark Crafts, a creative book publisher previously based in Asheville, NC.

I love helping students of all ages learn how to create photos they’re proud to share. Whether photography is a new hobby or a passion, you’re in the right place. Encouraging budding artists is one of my favorite things to do! If you or your kiddos want to improve on composition or understand how to use the settings on a DSLR camera to get more control over how images turn out, I’d be delighted to help with getting there.

I use varied approaches and projects from my years of teaching to the essential standards for the state of North Carolina to help all different kinds of learners grow their understanding of photographic and artistic concepts that will support them in making their visions for their photos come to life. I can’t wait to learn more about every new student and start taking some awesome photos together.

In this two-part class, students will create two simple ice sculptures by freezing objects in water and take before and after photos to show off the cool results.

making epic photos of ordinary objects

In this one-time class, students will bring ordinary, everyday objects to life by using photographic techniques to create drama and share their images with the group.
